Soprona Lisa Daehlin, joined by pianist Richard Pearson Thomas. Monday, February 24th, 2014. Cornelia Street Cafe, NYC. ALL ABOUT EVE… cavorting in the jardin du classical cabaret Fasten your Fig Leaves, it’s going to be a Bumpy Ride! Classical and cabaret crossover artist Lisa Daehlin, joined by pianist Richard Pearson Thomas, leads us on a romp through the infamous foliage of Eden to parts hither and yon. Singing and sinewing of things primal, very, very old (yet somehow new again) the evening weaves together music, poetry, commentary, and jokes about that First Lady of them all… Eve! whose biblical sense (good/bad/other) has kept her the topic of conversation from ancient ogling to modern-day googling. Compositions by many, including Fauré, Porter, de Kenessey, Weill, and some guy in a beard yakking away with a hammer, chisel, and some stone tablets.

Soprano LISA DAEHLIN, accompanied by pianist RICHARD PEARSON THOMAS, takes us on a musical journey through this deep and gorgeous land. A land of people falling in and out of love, behaving in manners strange and waxing prolific, all in the name of the eternally questionable ways of that seductive organ called the heart. Eclectic selection of compositions by Duparc, Hahn, Poulenc, Satie, Schoenberg, Weill, et al. LISA DAEHLIN has performed numerous operatic roles including Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera), Fiordiligi (Cosi Fan Tutte), Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), Angelica (Suor Angelica), Madame Lidoine (Dialogues of the Carmelites), First Lady (Magic Flute) and the High Priestess (Aida). Maestro Richard Woitach cast her to sing the role of Wellgunde (Das Rhinegold), and as his soprano in the concert Woitach and Friends 3-1/2.
